Civitan Pecans!

V i d a l i a O n i o n s

We go to the source in Vidalia Georgia every year to bring you sweet Vidalia Onions.  Proceeds from the sale of these onions goes, like all of our fund raisers, to help children in need.  Our pricing is competitive with other sources with the added advantage of being good for those in need.

Civitan Creed

I AM CIVITAN: as old as life, as young as the rainbow, as endless as time.

MY HANDS do the work of the world and reach out in service to others.

MY EARS hear the cry of children and the call throughout the world for peace, guidance, progress, and unity.

MY EYES search for others to join in the fellowship and service of Civitan.

MY MOUTH utters the call of daily duty and speaks prayers in every tongue.

MY MIND teaches me respect for law and the flag of my country.

MY HEART beats for every friend, bleeds for every injury to humanity and throbs with joy at every triumph of truth.

MY SOUL knows no fear but it's own unworthiness.

MY HOPE is for a better world through Civitan.

MY MOTTO: builders of good citizenship.

MY BELIEF: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

MY PLEDGE: to practice the golden rule and to build upon it, a better and nobler citizenship.

Fellowship, Knowledge, Service

The Three Basic Principles

Fellowship, Knowledge and Service.  These three things have, since the beginning of Civitan, been promoted as our three basic principles.

  • Fellowship amongst members and guests at all functions
  • Knowledge of one’s community, state, nation and world
  • Service to humanity

Following these three principles gives our members a well-rounded Civitan experience.

"BUILDERS OF GOOD CITIZENSHIP"

Stock photosWhat is Civitan?

Civitan is an all-volunteer, international service organization for people who want to realize their full potential.  We are everyday citizens who come together to make life better for our neighbors. While Civitan helps many charitable organizations our major service focus is on helping the developmentally disabled.

Through the generosity of our members and the good citizens of the community, we are able to support the following groups, agencies, and organizations:

  • Civitan International / Children's Hospital Birmingham
  • The Montgomery Children's Center
  • The Montgomery Association for Retarded Children
  • Child Protect
  • The Montgomery Therapeutic Recreation Center
  • Camp Civitan & Camp ASCCA
  • The Montgomery Boys & Girls Clubs
  • McInnis School
  • and Others.

Wise Vocational Training Center, Bernard Hanan Center, and McInnis Residential Services serving our special needs youth and adult community.

THANK YOU MONTGOMERY AREA RESIDENTS!
OUR FRUIT CAKE , PECAN, AND ONION SALES HAVE BEEN A GREAT SUCCESS!

Just as in years past, you purchased Claxton Fruit Cakes from our local stores and orderd pecans from our members for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and bought onions from our members helping us increase our Project Fund so that we can give to others in need; and remember, every penny above product costs, goes straight to local agencies. We have no overhead, no operation costs.

BISCUIT BASEBALL GAMES ARE GOING ON RIGHT NOW! THANKS TO ALL WHO COME OUT TO ENJOY THE GAMES!!!

When you pull into the paid parking areas, you'll see our members hard at work, taking up parking fees. You'll not only know you have a great place to park, but you'll also become a huge help in making Montgomery a better community through the efforts of Montgomery Civitan. The parking fee is split between the City and the Civitan Club and all of our funds go directly into our Fund Raiser Account which is divided between local charitable agencies.

CLERGY DAY!
Clergy Day is held each February and this past one was a great success. We look forward each year to honoring our clergy members from the Montgomery Area churches. Find out more by contacting us! More HERE.
